A £1.5m London dental education centre (LonDEC) to form part of the King’s College London Dental Institute.
Dental professionals across the Capital will benefit from a state-of-the-art London dental education centre, which will help drive up training and improve clinical standards.
The Centre comprises a dental skills room equipped with 26 stations, eight of which will include microscopes, cutting edge clinical simulation facilities, a dedicated lecture room catering for up to 50 delegates as well as break out rooms. Furthermore, LonDEC now has a full immersion simulation suite for team training in both infection control and the management of dental emergencies.
Carter Synergy provided the Main Contractor Role, which included the integration of nominated specialist, employed directly by the client.
The scope of works included:
Demolition – removal of existing laboratory facilities.
Modular Offices – comprising of student academic centre, seminar room, break out area, Director’s offices, training room and simulation suite.
Partitioning Systems from Komfort with Encapsulated Blinds.
3-Pipe VRF comfort cooling system and associated BMS controls.
Roof-mounted air handling units & ventilation systems.
Training facilities – including Corian worktops, natural gas, water & compressed air to mannequins
Seminar Facilities – including AV systems linked to training room & simulation suite.
All associated decoration, flooring (complete with LonDEC Corporate Logo), reception counter with integrated electrical & network services, access control, fire alarm alterations and ICT Infrastructure.
